Applying for your provisional?

If you've sent off or are currently applying for your provisional driving licence then naturally, you may have a few questions. I'll try to answer them on this page. If you need any more adivce, please don't hesitate to get in contact with me online.

You may apply for your provisional driving licence up to three months before you turn 17. I'd recommend applying for it online through GOV.UK as it's cheaper. It usually takes around two weeks to arrive. Unfortunately you are not permitted to drive at all until you physically receive your licence. Your licence will last for both men and women until the age of 70 (providing continual photo renewal every 10 years) - after that, it expires.

I've recently passed my test. Karen was a very pleasant driving instructor and I couldn't have asked for anything else. She is positive, friendly and kept explanations simple. If it weren't for Karen's encouragement along the way I'm pretty sure I would have quit. You're a star Karen, I will never forget you. Thank you.
